6 I’m Fabio. I’ve spent the last several years working as a network engineer and infrastructure consultant, mostly in and around the Sheffield & Chesterfield area, but I do work internationally. My work covers network design and management, hyper-converged infrastructure, cloud platforms, disaster recovery, and IT strategy the kind of technical work that keeps organisations running. I’m currently a Network Engineer, where I manage enterprise-level infrastructure and support clients across the Globe. Alongside that, I’ve worked as a freelance consultant, helping businesses with everything from pre-sales architecture to hands-on implementation. I hold a BSc. in System, Networking and LAN/WAN Management from Sheffield Hallam University, and more recently became an Affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Information Security and a Member of the IEEE UK & Ireland Computer Society. Continuous learning is something I take seriously; I maintain a home lab and a cloud-based lab specifically for CPD and testing new approaches. But the reason I’m doing IT for Good isn’t really about qualifications. I’ve seen what good IT support does for an organisation, the time it frees up. And I’ve seen what the absence of it costs. Smaller organisations, charities, and community groups tend to fall through the gap: too small for IT providers, not generating enough revenue to justify proper support. I’m also someone who cares about the causes I work with. Animal welfare, environment, health, human rights; if your work touches any of those areas, I’m especially motivated to help. IT for Good is my way of making sure the people doing the most meaningful work have access to the same quality of IT thinking as everyone else. Have any thoughts?
